Ruth Irons
**********************************************************************************************
February 3, 1918, was a sad day in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Irons of West Mountain. The sadness was due to the death of their daughter, Ruth aged about three and a half years.
About six week previous she had contacted whooping cough, which eventually resulted in her death. Every thing that medical skill and the best of nursing could do, was of no avail, and the beautiful rose which bloomed throughout eternity.
The funeral was held from her late home, where her little feet love to wonder on Feb 6. Rev A. A. Seso of Berne spoke feelingly from the words, "Is it well with the child. It is well." Undertaker Schell of West Berne had charge of the funeral arrangements. Burial was in the Beaverdam cemetery. Besides her father and mother who is survived by five brothers and two sisters.
"a precious one from them has gone,
A voice they loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in their home
Which never cam be filled. "
Mr. and Mrs. Irons have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
