My Fathers People This is a 15 page reminiscence of William L. Osterhout written in 1953 when he was 90 years old. It is based on the oral history of how his great-grandfather born in 1766 lived in Knox. William's father moved to Berne. It is a very interesting piece of oral history about the Anti-Rent War set to the written page a century later.

1839 into 1870s Starting with an 1839 meeting in Bernville, tenants on the Van Rensselaer Manor (all of present-day Albany County) rose up against their entrapment as serfs on a feudal manor.
